About grade:
Hastelloy C276 is a nickel-molybdenum-chromium super alloy that has a slight content of good
quality tungsten that helps in offering the excellent corrosion resistance property in
severe atmosphere. The presence of nickel and molybdenum in the grade helps in imparting the
excellent pitting resistance to acid and crevice corrosion resistance in reducing
environment. Moreover, the presence of low carbon content in the grade helps in reducing the
carbide precipitation when welding is done. The C276 grade is by far the most widely used
grade in the market for manufacturing god quality of sheets and plates. Some of the
applications such as chemical processing, pollution control, paper mill and other are some
of the industrial applications.
This grade has been preferred over any other grade because of its excellent corrosion resistance property in chemical process environment such as ferric and cupric acids. Some of the characteristics exhibited by the grade are outstanding resistance to reducing environment, resistance to strong solutions of oxidizing salts and due to the low carbon content, it minimizes the grain-boundary carbide ppt process during welding process.
